Keyless entry remotes can be equipped to most vehicles.

The Toyota vehicles introduced in 2007, like the makes and models before them, feature the popular keyless remote technologies. Not all of the cars are equipped with this capability at the dealership, but keyless remotes can be installed aftermarket at an automotive store. While programming the transmitters should be left to a professional, syncing the keyless remotes to the car can be done by anyone without any professional equipment.

Difficulty:
Moderately Easy

Instructions

    • 1

Enter your 2007 Toyota and close all of the doors other than the driver's door, which you should leave unlocked.

    • 2

Insert and remove your ignition key from the ignition twice and close and open the door twice in a row.

    • 3

Insert and remove the key from the ignition again and close and open the door two more times.

    • 4

Insert your key into the ignition, close the door, turn the ignition to the "On" position and then remove the key from the ignition again. At this point, the locks will cycle to indicate that your car has entered the programming mode.

    • 5

Press and hold the unlock and lock buttons on your remote for two seconds, release both and then press and hold just the lock button for three seconds. Wait for the locks to cycle again to indicate that the remote is programmed and you can remove the ignition key and open the door again to end programming.
