How to Remove My Toyota Tacoma Truck Seats to Access the Carpets

Cleaning or detailing your vehicle can be a relaxing experience, but there are times when you realize that you can't access everything you want to because of immobile objects. Maybe you spilled a soda on the carpet and it rolled under the seat, or you got mud on the interior and can't reach it with a vacuum. Either way, if you want to remove the seats on your Toyota Tacoma to get to the carpets, it can be done in about 30 minutes with simple hand tools.

Instructions

things you'll need:

  • 3/8-inch ratchet and socket

      Open the doors to the truck and look underneath the seats to locate the seat bolts. There are four on each seat.

      Unbolt the seats from the floor using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket.

      Lean the seat forward so that you can see the wiring harness underneath the seat. Unplug the harness using your hands to free the seat.

    • 4

      Pick up the seat by the back and bottom, distributing the load across your body, and lift it out of the vehicle. Repeat this process for the other seat until the carpet is accessible.
