How to Replace a Toyota Camry Side Mirror
If you have a broken or damaged side view mirror on your Toyota Camry, you can get a replacement from the dealer, a salvage yard or some auto parts stores. You can change the mirror easily with basic tools and paint it to match the car prior to installing it. You will need to specify whether your mirrors are electric or not when you purchase replacements. Since both mount the same way, you can choose to go without the electric adjustment.
- Moderately Easy
- Flat screwdriver
- Phillips screwdriver
Open the door of the car and locate the trim panel on the inside of the door next to the mirror. Pry the trim panel off the door with your flat screwdriver, exposing three mounting screws under the cover.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the wiring pigtail on the mirror if your car has power-controlled mirrors. Remove the three mounting screws with a Phillips head screwdriver and remove the mirror from the car door.
Position the new mirror on the car door and install the mounting screws through the door and into the mirror. Tighten the screws with a Phillips screwdriver and plug in the electrical connector if you have power mirrors.
Replace the trim panel on the inside of the door covering the mounting screws. Snap it in place with a couple of small taps with the heel of your hand.
